Modular Manufacturer Requirements

Manufacturers producing modular units for installation in Utah must apply and receive approval from the Division of Facilities Construction and Management prior to shipment of any modular unit to the state.

Once approval is provided, manufacturers are required to work with a State of Utah Approved Third-party Inspection Agency for plan review and in-factory inspections. State of Utah Approved Third-Party Inspection Agencies and approved third-party inspectors are the only entities authorized to provide State of Utah Certification Decals for modular units installed in Utah.

Work with a DFCM-approved third-party inspection agency.
Apply DFCM decals to all modular building units before shipment.
