DFCM Friends,

As you are all aware, Mike Ambre has accepted a position with POMSLA as their new executive director. We are thankful to Mike for his significant contribution to DFCM over the many years he served here. We will all miss him, and I would like to personally wish him every success in his new endeavors!

It is my pleasure to announce Andy Marr as the interim director of DFCM effective immediately. Andy joined DFCM in 2011 as an Apprentice Maintenance Specialist and quickly demonstrated his talents with facilities and people! By 2016 he was managing the Capitol Hill complex and masterfully forging relationships of trust with legislative and executive branch leaders alike. Under Jim Russell, Andy was selected to serve as an Assistant Director where he has managed the ISF team including 208 buildings and 160 employees. He has earned the trust and respect of his employees, customers, and leadership. I have had the distinct pleasure of working with Andy through some very challenging issues and have been impressed with his dedication and thoughtful approach to all of our conversations.

Andy is happily married with two little girls and together they enjoy skiing, canyoneering, whitewater rafting and camping. He holds a master’s degree in environmental science and though he and his wife do not have extended family in the state, he has put his roots down deep in both Utah and DFCM! I am delighted that Andy has accepted my invitation to serve in this capacity.

As is standard for this position, Chief Pierpont has asked that we conduct a nationwide search for a new director. We will commence with that search shortly. In the meantime, join with me in supporting Andy in his new assignment.

Thank you to each one of you for all you do! I am proud to serve the citizens of Utah with such a great team!

All the best,
Marv
